COUNCIL ( like General Assembly): two responsibles of each IFHE member - country organization
IFHE Statute defines the Council as its decision making body-comprising two representatives of each member country; Honorary members, and the Executive Committee, which is tasked with implementation of agreed policies and making recommendations. IFHE Standing Orders provide the regulatory framework.

1. It shall appoint the General Secretary and determine his rights, obligations and remuneration.
2. It shall draw up the accounts and budget for submission to the General Assembly.
3. It shall designate ad hoc commissions or experts for special tasks, call for expert opinions and decide on the instructions to be issued for such work.
4. It shall decide on acceptance of applications for full membership and on the barring of such members from the Federation.
5. It shall propose the designation of Corresponding and Honorary Members.
6. It shall draw up the agenda and determine the place and date of Executive Committee meetings.
7. It shall allocate additional votes for the General Assembly as provided for in Article 8 (3) above and shall determine membership subscriptions as provided for in Article 21 (1) below.
8. It shall propose meetings of the General Assembly to the Executive Committee and shall convene extraordinary meetings as provided for in Article 9 (1) above.
9. It shall, in emergencies, be authorised to take any measures in the interest of the Federation even where such measures would normally fall within the purview of the General Assembly or of the Executive Committee provided that it subsequently has such measures approved by the respective and proper organ.
10. It shall assist the President of the Federation in his activities.
11. It shall promote and develop the Federation.
12. It shall propose the number of Vice Presidents that the Federation should have and who are to be elected by the General Assembly pursuant to Article 11 (1) above.
13. It shall propose appointments to the chairmanships and vice chairmanships of the permanent commissions to the General Assembly.

IFHE is a non-profit organization. IFHE ask a very low fee from each member country. IFHE uses this fees for own administration, congresses and other overhead costs. IFHE also uses the money to support some small IFHE projects for other IFHE member countries

  Activities

To promote, develop and not fail to capture hospital engineering technology;

To compare international experience;

To promote the principle of integrated planning, design and evaluation by improved collaboration between the professions;

To promote more efficient management of operation, maintenance and safety of hospitals, their engineering, installations, equipment and buildings;

To offer collaboration with other international organizations.

IFHE has arranged for International Congresses to take place every two years since 1972, at venues throughout the world, usually in connecting with a healthcare trade exhibition. Attendances average about 500 recorded delegate. (A) General Assembly takes place at each congress, where all IFHE members may discuss IFHE policy and activities.

IFHE provides a source for international communication of healthcare engineering matters by maintaining and making available a database or members, who may be contacted for information and to arrange for technical visits;
IFHE publishes Philology a Newsletter. This contains summaries or IFHE activities, describes member national organizations, draws attention to publications of interest and to further education opportunities, and diarises healthcare related events.
IFHE maintains a website www.ifhe.info, which provides information about the organization and its activities.

IFHE distributes to its members, a free copy of international issues or "Health Estate", Journal of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management, U.K. These issues convey major IFHE announcements, and publish papers selected from IFHE congress proceedings and other sources.
IFHE consults and cooperates with WHO through a designated technical officer, in the development and implementation of a plan or collaborative activities.

  • arms industry means any entity involved in the manufacture, sale or distribution of arms, and any affiliate of such entity.

This disclosure statement needs to be provided by any nongovernmental organization, private sector entity, philanthropic foundation and academic institution prior to engaging with WHO.
