  Activities

The objectives of the Federation shall be scientific, literary, and educational. Its aims shall be to encourage research in the field; to promote international cooperation in the field; and to disseminate scientific information. In pursuit of these aims the Federation may, in relation to its specific field of interest, engage in the following activities: sponsorship of meetings; publication of an official journal and other official documents; cooperation with other societies and organizations in specific learning; appointment of commissions on special problems; awarding of prizes and distinctions. It may promote the formation of national or regional societies or groups, the coordination of bibliographic and informational services and the improvement of standards in terminology, equipment, methods and safety practices, and generally shall promote improved communication and understanding in the world community using ultrasound in medicine and biology.

For the purposes of this statement:

  • tobacco industry means any entity involved in the manufacture, sale or distribution of tobacco and related products, and any affiliate of such entity; and
  • arms industry means any entity involved in the manufacture, sale or distribution of arms, and any affiliate of such entity.

This disclosure statement needs to be provided by any nongovernmental organization, private sector entity, philanthropic foundation and academic institution prior to engaging with WHO.

In view of the foregoing, please answer the following questions:

By providing this statement, your entity commits to promptly inform WHO of any change to the above information and to complete a new statement that describes the changes.
As needed relations (not formal association, affiliation or links) with multiple ultrasound manufacturers (e.g. GE, Philips, Samsung, Butterfly, Zonare, Canon, Hitachi) for financial help with projects in developing countries or educational courses cooperation (such as ultrasound machines loan).
